December's Torrid Torso   Holiday Recipe Old Fashioned Creamy Eggnog 1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar 4 eggs 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 4 cups whipping cream or milk rum, optional whipped cream, sweetened, optional nutmug optional I substitute 2 cups milk and 2 cups heavy whipping cream in place of 4 cups whipping cream. In blender or using hand mixer combine powdered sugar, eggs, salt, and vanilla. Blend at high speed until well blended (about 20 seconds). In saucepan place 2 cup whipping cream (or 1 cup milk, 1 cup heavy whipping cream). Cook over med. heat until thermometer reaches 140 degrees F (5 to 6 minutes). While blending at med. speed, slowly add warm whipping cream (milk mixture) to egg mixture. Continue blending until frothy (about 20 seconds). In same saucepan stir together egg mixture and remaining 2 cups whipping cream (milk, heavy whipping cream). Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until thermometer reaches 140 degrees F (5 to 6 minutes). If desired, add 1 to 2 tbsp. rum to each serving; top with sweetened whipped cream and nutmeg. Mixture can be stored refrigerated 2 to 3 days.   Unicorns and Faeries Have you seen the cover for my upcoming book, "Unicorn Craving"? It's gorgeous. Now you might think by looking at the beautiful cover, that the story is this nice little fantasy story. Actually, my muse got very, very naughty with this story. Gillian Darby is a lovely woman who simply wanted to take a drive to the country to pick some apples. Where she ends up is a whole 'nother world with a very attractive part-unicorn named Evangelo (who happens to sport a very lush white tail), a sexy black satyr named Hamlin, and his rather dominating submissive fire faery named Vannora. Her favorite thing is administering a little well-placed punishment. Boy, is Gillian in for an education when she agrees to Evangelo's birthday request--for her to act as his royal unicorn consort for the day in exchange for a basket of very special faerie realm fruit. She certainly gets some very unusual training and Hamlin and Vannora are absolutely delighted to offer their assistance. Watch for "Unicorn Craving" coming in December.

A Slice from Adrianna's Daily Life I might mention here that I did recently attend a science fiction convention in Portland and had the opportunity to listen to Peter Beagle, author of "The Last Unicorn" on a panel. That story was a real favorite of my children when they were growing up. There were two very good panels on mythology and fairytales. There were lots of great panels going on and it was really hard to make choices on which to attend. I did manage to stay away from the chocolate auction. It's always good to get away from writing for a bit and allow some time for fresh perspective. Besides which my sons live about twenty minutes outside of Portland so I got to stay in Vancouver and visit with them and saved a bit on the hotel. It's not good to get in a rut. This is a story about the twins born to Lura and Nathan from Fertility Rite. I knew back when I wrote Fertility Rite that the twins' story was going to have to be told and now they're all grown up. This is a story about the girl next door, Flaire, the woman they both adored. And then she was taken over by the wild nature that strikes winged females on Vrotia. One day she disappeared, but now they've received word she's been captured. The first thing they need to do is save her, the next will be to help her fight the call of the wild with one of them as her mate. Will it be Andras or Dario who she accepts? They'll all in for a surprise. And have you seen the new Amazon Kindle that's been unveiled? And is already sold out? I have three books in the Kindle store at Amazon and the majority of my titles are all "Kindle-friendly." I've added a Kindle to my wish list, but I think it's going to have to wait a while. An essential oils massage can be a sensual act that you share with your partner. Many plant oils contain natural aphrodisiac properties and when used in massage oil, they can set a mood that is inviting to romance and love. Massage with herbal essential oil increases your blood circulation and thus warms you. It is a very popular technique used to increase sex drive. So, it is not difficult to infuse the air with romance through the use of aromatherapy. Other ideas to set the mood include putting on some light music in the background.
