Blue Ribbons!! This
modern day Frankenstein story starts out with a bang, the vibrant
writing style and steady pacing really creating a great
atmosphere. ...I enjoyed the mystery that Ms. Dane has woven in BODY

carries throughout the whole piece. ...This is an ambitious and
creative piece of original writing, and will really appeal to erotic

Mariposa Soul
...I
found Mariposa Soul to be a unique story about a man who had
difficulties facing the truth about his sexuality... Adrianna Dane
did a fantastic job of showcasing Andre's struggles, heartache and
denials as he tried to come to terms with his feelings for Simon...
Their love scenes were sweetly tender, and their encounters
were sensual and very passionate. Thank you, Ms. Dane for such a
beautifully written gripping story...

Blue Ribbons!! Adrianna Dane has quickly
become one of my favoriate authors because of her heartfelt
storylines and memorable characters... In SULLY'S HEART readers are
treated to an inside look at what drives Luke to behave in such a
self-destructive manner and what it takes to save him. ... I really
enjoyed the intensity of this storyline and quickly read through the
whole book just because I had to know how things turn out between

A
Slice From Adrianna's Life
Dizzy...
You remember that song,
right? Well, I anticipate the next two months or so, I'll be singing
it a lot. With numerous deadlines and three conferences coming up,
I'll probably be meeting myself coming and going.
First up is the EPICon
Conference next week. That's close and I'll be able to visit with my
sons who live in Vancouver which isn't that far from Portand. I'll be
participating in a panel discussion with Linda McLaughlin and we'll
be discussing how to make video trailers on a small press budget. It
also means a visit to Powell's Bookstore. I'm already salivating over
that trip. Good thing I'm driving.
At the end of March I'll
be attending Norwescon, a scifi and fantasy convention which will
take place in Seattle. Another first-time convention for me. That's
always a good way to make me nervous and allow for lots of wrong
turns before I actually arrive. But wrong turns aren't necessarily a
bad thing. You can see lots of interesting things by making wrong
turns. Or so I tell myself.
And then, in April, I'll
be off to Pittsburgh for the Romantic Times Convention and another
panel. This time, Megan Hart and I will be discussion Myspace and
Youtube, and the social networking scheme of things. At least I'm
flying to that one, so hopefully no wrong turns. Well...maybenot
until I get to the sightseeing part.
So, yes, in March and on
into April, Dizzy is my theme song. But I'm sure looking forward to
some bright colors with flowers blooming in the spring.

The
Goddess Eostre...
by
Adrianna Dane
Want to know what eggs
and bunnies have to do with Easter? Let's take a look at the goddess
of spring and dawn, Eostre.
Spring is a time of
rebirth and rejuvenation. It is a time when all that has slept
through winter will arise. It is a time of fertility and renewal, and
a time to rejoice.
In mythology, the goddess
Eostre (some pronounce her name as yo'ster) is the Germanic
goddess of fertility, of the dawn, and of spring. Of Norse origin she
is also referred to by the name Ostara. Her celebration usually takes
place at the time when night and day are considered equal (the vernal
(spring) equinox). March 20th or 21st would be considered the day for
her celebration. Thus, the beginning of spring and a time to emerge
from a long winter of hibernation. A rebirth so to speak.
Eostre's sacred animal
symbol or totem is the rabbit (a symbol of procreation, well chosen
one might say), and her other symbol is the egg equating to fertile purity.
As in many myths and
legends it's hard to pinpoint the exact birth of this goddess.
According to some sources, the first appearance of Ostara was the
mention of her in relation to the Eosturmonath, considered a pagan
festival, and written about by the monk Bede, around 750 A.D. Some
research indicates that these pagan festivals were celebrated
hundreds of years before the Christian recognition of Easter.
Babylonian, Persian, and
Egyptian ancient traditions used eggs (the symbol of fertility) in
their celebration of this ancient goddess and her festival. Dying of
eggs dates back to these times and is an ancient art form and custom
which continues to this day.

Happy spring, everyone! |
